While Batman: Arkham Knight is waiting for its specific 2015 release date to be announced and yet to be released by then, let's discuss the villain Arkham Knight himself on his identity.
When the Arkham Knight was announced a a villain resembling Batman in military attire and with the Arkham logo smeared on his chest, his identity was rumored to be oone of the following villains from the previous games:
Hush/Thomas Elliot - Wanted revenge against Bruce Wayne and that escaping Arkham City with his new face resembling Bruce Wayne he would have access to his company's techonology that would give him the suit, the gadgets, and the army of unmanned drones
The Joker - For the number of times he died and because of the him stealing Black Mask's role as the main villain in Batman Arkham Origins, many site users have become obsessed with him on wanting to return in the Arkham Knight game but surely that is definately not gonna happen
Ra's al Ghul - For being fed up with Batman for rejecting his offer of succeeding him as the leader of the league of assassins that with him needing to be brought back from the dead with the help of a new Lazerus pit he would do so.
Hugo Strange - wanting revenge against Batman for ruining his plans of killing all the criminals locked up in Arkham City which won't happen because of Ra's al ghul killing him over seeing Batman too perfect for him to pass on as a successor
Quincy Sharp - Blames Batman for letting Joker and other super villains live to ruin his life and for letting Hugo Strange take power into betraying him and ruining his career as Mayor of Gotham with his madness
Azreal - Unknown
Jason Todd, Tim Drake, or Damian Wayne - For calling Batman old man and to dialog posted "You don't understand" when we know that it's none of them and certainly not Jason since he has been officially confirmed to be playable as the Red Hood that he is most likely to help Batman defeat the Arkham Knight rather than fighting him
and the son of Amedeus Arkham or a resurrected Amedeus himself
but then as original as the villain was said to be, the person under the mask is sure to be original as well
For whoever the Arkham Knight as an original character may be, not only would he have slight connection to Batman but because of his costume having the Arkham logo printed on his chest and with himself and his men named after Arkham, he may very much likely have strong connections with Quincy Sharp and Hugo Strange that is is either one of Sharp's proudest associates or one of Strange's secret lieutenants and or perhaps the son of Hugo Strange as well.
To find out who the Arkham Knight's true Identity really is, stay tuned for the Arkham Knight Game to find out.
